Based in Boulder, CO, Mirror Objects bridges the gap between classic vintage warmth and modern sonic exploration. Fusing heavy, psychedelic riffs with driving drum loops and ambient soundscapes, the band delivers an atmospheric, high-energy live experience driven by original tracks and unpredictable covers.

Driving the band’s guitar work is Scott Laurence, a veteran of the live music scene since the early 2000s. Drawing on decades of performance across various rock outfits, Scott constructs a signature blend of 60s and 70s inspired sonic textures. His riffs drift seamlessly from heavy, driving hooks into dreamy, ambient textures, grounding vintage influences in fresh, modern material.

Complementing this raw rock energy is Yumi Chen, a classically trained violinist, rock improviser, and composer who brings both precision and wild adaptability to the stage. Yumi began her training at age three through the Suzuki method, later serving as Concertmaster of the Festival Orchestra at Hoff-Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale, NY. Her formal journey includes studies at the Conservatory of Music at Purchase College (SUNY), pit performances for The Nutcracker, and playing with the Boston College Symphony Orchestra. Pivoting into New York City’s rock circuit as the violinist for Ghosts on Film, Yumi now channels her lifelong passion into nature-inspired compositions, soaring improvisations, and fearless musical experimentation.

Together, Mirror Objects creates an unpredictable, immersive sound world where classical craft, psychedelic rock, and electronic elements collide.
